Athletic Program Form
Buddie Basketball League
Ages 5-7
Fee: $60.00
Program Dates: November 28th – February 25th
Registration ends: October 31st 2011
Players will learn the fundamentals of the game, good sportsmanship and how to work as a team. Time and score are kept, but a 10-point mercy rule is in affect. Games are officiated by a referee, but official rules are lenient to allow for learning. Played on 7 foot basketball hoops. Games are held on Saturdays and practice is held one night a week.
Cadet Basketball League
Ages 8-10
Fee: $60.00
Program Dates: November 28th – February 25th
Registration ends: October 31st 2011
The next level of competition after our Buddie Basketball League. Players will learn more basketball skills, plays and strategies. Time, score and fouls are kept. Games are officiated by 2 referees, and official rules are lenient in the beginning to allow for learning, but become stricter as players progress. Played on normal height basketball hoops. Games are held on Saturdays and practice is held one night a week.
Junior Basketball League
Ages 11-13
Fee: $60.00
Program Dates: April – June
Registration ends: February 10th 2012
Practice will be held one evening per week, which is decided by the coach. Games will be held on Saturdays. Volunteer coaches are needed. This league consists of an increased level of skill, playoffs and championship games, and an All-Star Game. This league does not travel and all games are played at the Union Club. Games are officiated by 2 referees and strict rules are in effect.
Teen Basketball League
Ages 14-18 (in High School)
Fee: $60.00
Program Dates: April – June
Registration ends: February 10th 2012
Practice will be held one evening per week, which is decided by the coach. Games will be held on Saturdays. Volunteer coaches are needed. This is the newest level of basketball competition we offer at the Union Club. This league consists of an increased level of skill, playoffs and championship games, and an All-Star Game. This league does not travel and all games are played at the Union Club. Games are officiated by 2 referees and strict rules are in effect. Games days vary during the week and Saturdays.
how do you register a child for the teen basketball league?
Visit the Union Club (located at 1050 Jeanette Avenue) and fill out the necessary paperwork for the Teen Basketball League. Membership is required for all programs along with the cost of the league. Teen Membership is $25 for the year.
When will I be able to register my son for basketball?
We open our registration 2 months prior to the cut off date. So for Buddie & Cadet, we start registration in September, for Junior & Teen it starts in January.
Do you offer Summer Basketball in the 14 & up age group? if so, can a team join, or is it individuals only?
We do not offer any Summer Basketball programs, sorry.
I want to register my son for the buddy basketball program. Do we need to be members of the Boys & Girls club?
