At the Boys & Girls Clubs of Union County, we want to make sure that all children and youth have an opportunity to benefit from our services. We accept a variety of subsidies and offer scholarships to assist you if your financial circumstances would otherwise prevent you from affording our programs.

Who is eligible to receive financial assistance?
Families whose financial circumstances make them unable to pay the full fee for their children’s program.
What programs can the Boys & Girls Clubs of Union County help subsidize?
The BGCUC can help subsidize our After-School programs, and our various Summer Camps held in Elizabeth, Union, Plainfield and Hillside. We are unable to subsidize Camp Trips, Athletics Programs or Swim Lessons.
Is it possible to attend Camp or the After-School Program for free?
No. Every family must pay a portion of the fee themselves, even if they are eligible for other outside funding.
How does the BGCUC determine how much I pay?
The amount of assistance will vary depending on income and cannot be determined without going through the application process.
Do you decide based on a sliding scale?
No, our scholarship amounts are based on the Federal Poverty Guidelines.
Where does the money come from?
Our scholarship program is supported by individuals and businesses that donate to the BGCUC.
If I have received scholarship from the BGCUC in the past can I apply again?
Yes. It is however not guaranteed that you will receive the same amount as in previous years.
Is my application kept confidential?
Yes. Your application and financial documents are kept confidential. You application is managed exclusively by the Camp Director and Front Desk Manager, who will contact you once you application has been reviewed.
HOW TO APPLY FOR A SCHOLARSHIP
- Complete the application form and ensure that you include proof of your family’s income.
- Complete a program registration form for each child (nothing will be charged to you until your application is approved).
- You may mail-in or drop-off the application in person to the location in which you wish to participate at.
- Once your application has been reviewed you will receive a call from the Front Desk Manager to discuss your payment options. This process can take between 1 to 2 weeks.






Why is the summer camps priced differently by location?
The fact is that we serve different neighborhoods, each with their own specific needs & capabilities of paying for our programs. Due to certain grants that we receive for certain locations, we are able to charge less in those clubs for our membership fees & our summer camps.

We only serve Union County. Our club locations are in Union, Elizabeth, Plainfield and our school sites are in Roselle & Hillside.
