Verizon Employee Volunteer Incentive Program

Are you employed by Verizon and plan to volunteer here at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Union County? Did you know that if you complete and journal 50 or more volunteer hours this year with our organization, you can request a $750 Volunteer Incentive Program (VIP) grant for our organization? Employees of Verizon may request VIP grants on behalf of two separate organizations for a total of $1,500 each year.

In 2009, Verizon employees volunteered more than 700,000 hours through activities like serving on their PTAs, coaching youth athletics, tutoring children, and participating in other community service activities. Verizon values every hour volunteered by their employees. So whether you volunteer one hour a year or 1,000 make your volunteer hours count –track your hours using the Volunteer Journal. Active U.S. Based Employees: Register your volunteer hours using the online Volunteer Journal (see below). You can register daily volunteer journal entries or can make one journal entry for multiple days of volunteerism with the same organization/school.

How to How to use the Volunteer Journal / Request A VIP Grant

  1. Volunteer with a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization or public school.
  2. Log your hours online using the Volunteer Journal.
  3. If you log 50 hours with the same organization you can apply for a $750 Volunteer Incentive Program (VIP) grant for that organization
  4. Provide the nonprofit/school with instructions on verifying your volunteer hours (follow online instructions)

  • ALL 2011 volunteer hours must be completed and registered using the Volunteer Journal by December 31, 2011.

V.I.P Valued, Inspirational, Partners

Originally founded by volunteers, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Union County has provided safe and positive places for children, youth and families in Union County since 1955. The dedication, passion and commitment of volunteers has enabled our agency to help thousands of young people realize their potential.

We rely on the support of hundreds of volunteers. They are the heart and soul of Boys and Girls Club.

Volunteers contribute in many different ways, some acting as role models, board members, employers, alumni or fundraisers.

Each individual, who generously donates their time, brings personal and professional interests and skills that dramatically enrich the lives of our kids and their families.
