The promise of spring is just around the corner. It is the perfect time for families to get out of the house and start having some fun. Bike rides are a perfect way to spend time together, knock off some of that winter weight, or just get out of the house and enjoy the warm weather.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Union County, Plainfield Club, invites you to come see our Bike Exchange Showroom to find the perfect bike for you or your child at a great low price. They are located at 530 West 7th Street in Plainfield, and are open Monday-Friday from 11am-7pm and Saturdays from 10am-3pm.
Thanks to donations from community members and Bike Stores like High Gear Cyclery (Milburn), the Plainfield Bike Exchange volunteers have repaired a large number of bicycles that are now on sale at very affordable prices. All types of bicycles, including children’s bikes, road bikes, and mountain bikes are accepted, refurbished and resold.
The Plainfield Bike Exchange has already sold numerous bikes throughout the fall/winter season, raising almost $4,000. Proceeds are benefiting the Plainfield Club’s after-school and summer camp programs that serve more than 150 children and teens. In addition to helping the Boys & Girls Club, the mission of the Bike Exchange is to help low-income families and their children purchase bicycles at affordable prices.
